The staff at Hotel Maximus were extremely polite, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. They were by far the highlight of our experience. The room was surprisingly spacious for Rome, which we appreciated. However, it was not as clean as we expected. The biggest drawback was the location. Although it is relatively close to the main train station, it is far from most of Rome’s main attractions. The neighborhood is not very tourist-oriented, and we didn’t feel particularly comfortable walking around at night. One evening, there was no hot water for showers, which was very disappointing after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, we found our stay disappointing, even for a three-star hotel. While the staff were excellent, the location, cleanliness, and hot water issue significantly affected our experience.

Facility was right, close to all of the major sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful and they had a great breakfast which was included. Overall, I would recommend it. Small, efficient, clean, and spacious for two people.

Breakfast is included, which is a nice feature. Unfortunately our group woke up too late and wasn’t able to take advantage. The room was tiny. The bathroom was not terribly clean and the toilet was literally 2 feet away from the main bed. The safe did not work. The location was good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Very close to the Vatican. Limited restaurants in the area though.This just wasn’t the hotel for us given the price.

The location of the hotel was great. The front staff was great and check-in was easy. The breakfast was good.
